A Clean Family Road-Trip Drama That Works Better as an OTT Watch
Family dramas built around road trips can be quite enjoyable when they combine relatable characters, emotional moments and enough humour to keep the journey engaging. This one takes a fairly simple family situation and turns it into a journey where relationships, misunderstandings, financial problems and personal struggles come together. Code: 25
The first half initially feels fresh and interesting. The story takes its time to establish the family and their problems, and for roughly the first 40 minutes, the screenplay develops in an engaging way. However, the pace gradually slows down as it approaches the interval. The interval portion is good and creates some curiosity about what comes next.
Unfortunately, the second half becomes considerably slower. There are some feel-good family emotions and a satisfying emotional stretch towards the climax, but the journey in between feels stretched.

Story & Premise
The story revolves around a middle-class family dealing with several personal and financial problems.
Veeranjaneyulu, played by Brahmanandam, is at the centre of the story. His son, played by Naresh, is facing his own set of difficulties. His inability to manage certain situations, along with problems in his personal and professional life, creates tension within the family.
One of the important conflicts comes from the misunderstanding between the father and son.
The son’s startup also fails, creating another major problem for the family. At the same time, the family has concerns regarding the daughter’s marriage.
These are not completely new problems. In fact, many of these situations have already been explored in several family dramas.
However, the initial setup is handled reasonably well, which makes the first half interesting.
Eventually, the family decides to travel together towards Goa, and that road journey becomes an important part of the movie.
The reason behind the trip and the problems they face along the way form the central portion of the second half.
First Half – A Promising Start
The first 40 minutes are probably one of the better portions of the film.
The movie doesn’t immediately rush into a predictable family drama. Instead, it takes some time to establish the characters and their problems.
This gives the initial portion a relatively fresh feeling.
The family dynamics are introduced gradually, and the problems faced by the characters are understandable.
The interval portion is also effective.
It creates the feeling that the problems are about to reach a much bigger stage and makes you curious about how the family will deal with them.
However, after the interval, the movie starts losing some of that momentum.
Second Half – The Major Problem
The biggest weakness is the pacing of the second half.
Once the road journey begins, the movie becomes slow.
The family travelling towards Goa should have been the most entertaining part of the film. A road-trip setup naturally gives filmmakers plenty of opportunities for comedy, unexpected situations, character interactions and emotional moments.
But here, most of the journey is handled at a fairly slow pace.
There are moments when you start feeling:
“How much longer until they reach Goa?”
That feeling becomes noticeable because the movie doesn’t consistently provide enough entertaining situations during the journey.
The emotional portions are decent, but the comedy is not strong enough to compensate for the slow pacing.
Family Emotions
The film’s biggest strength is its family emotion.
There are several moments involving the father, son and other family members that feel relatable.
The movie focuses on misunderstandings, financial struggles, family expectations and the difficulties faced by a middle-class father.
These portions work better than the comedy.
One of the emotional moments towards the climax also connects well because it deals with gratitude and the importance of showing love towards the people who stand by us.
That particular emotional idea gives the movie a nice feel-good quality.
Naresh’s Performance
Naresh delivers one of the better performances in the film.
His character represents the struggles of a middle-class father who is trying to manage multiple problems at the same time.
The financial pressures, family responsibilities and personal struggles are portrayed through his character.
His performance feels natural in the emotional portions.
Rather than relying only on dramatic dialogues, he brings a certain relatability to the character.
For me, his performance is one of the major positives of the movie.
Brahmanandam’s Role
Brahmanandam’s presence adds a different dimension to the movie.
His character is important to the family setup, although the film doesn’t completely utilise his comic potential.
Considering the road-trip structure, there was definitely scope to create more humorous situations around his character.
Still, his presence adds familiarity and warmth to the family environment.
Other Performances
Priya Vadlamani, Ravi Teja Mahadhan and Raghuvaran also deliver decent performances.
The supporting cast fits naturally into the family setup.
Nobody feels particularly out of place, and the performances are generally consistent with the tone of the film.
The movie doesn’t depend entirely on one actor. Instead, it tries to create an ensemble family experience.
Comedy – Could Have Been Better
This is another area where the movie feels underutilised.
The film has a road-trip setup, which is almost perfect for comedy.
But the humour is used only occasionally.
There are a few comedy moments here and there, but the movie never becomes a full-fledged comedy entertainer.
This becomes especially noticeable when compared with Malayalam road-trip family entertainers that use the journey itself to generate continuous humour.
Here, the journey mostly moves the story forward rather than providing consistently entertaining situations.
More comedy could have made the second half much more enjoyable.
Comparison With Falimy
One interesting point is the similarity with the Malayalam film Falimy.
Both movies have a family travelling together in a vehicle, with a road journey becoming an important part of the story.
The destination and circumstances are different, so the stories are not identical. However, there are noticeable similarities in the basic road-trip and family setup.
The major difference is the tone.
Falimy makes much stronger use of its road journey for comedy and eventually brings the emotional elements together effectively.
The journey in that film has many situations that keep the audience entertained.
Here, the road-trip portions are considerably slower and the comedy is used more sparingly.
So, while the premise has some similarities, the execution and agenda are different.

Dialogues are also decent, particularly in the emotional portions.
Technically, the movie doesn’t have any major problem. The main issue remains the screenplay and pacing.
Is It Suitable for Family Viewing?
Yes.
The movie is presented as a clean family entertainer, and there is no major adult content that would make it unsuitable for watching with family.
If you are looking for a movie that you can sit down and watch with your parents or family without worrying about explicit content, this is a relatively safe option.
Just don’t expect a nonstop comedy or a highly engaging road-trip adventure.
Should You Watch It on OTT?
Since this is an OTT release, I would say you can give it one try if you enjoy family dramas.
The movie isn’t a complete disappointment.
It has good performances, decent emotional moments, pleasant music and a clean presentation.
The biggest problem is that it is simply too slow in parts.
If the second half had been tighter and the road journey had included more comedy and entertaining situations, the overall film could have been considerably better.
This is not a routine film, and the initial setup is actually quite interesting.
The first half builds the family problems reasonably well, and the interval gives the movie a good push. The emotional portions, performances, music, cinematography and dialogues are all decent.
However, the second half slows down considerably.
The road-trip portion, which should have been the most entertaining section, doesn’t have enough comedy or engaging situations. The family problems themselves are also somewhat familiar, so once the conflicts are established, it becomes easy to predict where the story is heading.
The climax brings back some of the feel-good emotion and gives the movie a reasonably satisfying ending.
Overall, this is a clean, decent family OTT watch, but don’t expect too many high moments.
